Glynnis Young prides herself on her multifaceted career and committed service to the well-being of individuals and families. Her professional life is an inspiring weave of military service and devotion to the field of mental health, underscored by a deep understanding and compassion for those affected by trauma.
Glynnis holds a B.A. in Psychology from Howard University, a M.S. in Psychology, and a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Her clinical orientation is rooted in narrative therapy, exploring generational and present-day traumas. The modalities she employs - Narrative Therapy - Internal Family Systems- and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, are a testament to her well-rounded expertise and her ability to adapt to the needs of those she serves. Glynnis serves clients 16 years and above.
Glynnis is a certified Gottman Couples Therapist and member of Psi Chi International Honors Society of Psychology. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, volunteering to assist women affected by domestic violence, and serving the Montgomery, AL community as a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
As an associate licensed counselor (ALC) under the supervision of Candyce Anderson, she is eager to serve residents of Alabama.
